about us
built on a simple promise.
Merlin Capital is a litigation finance firm. We advance money to plaintiffs while their cases are pending. The advances are non-recourse: if the case doesn’t win, they owe nothing. Everything else about how we work follows from taking that promise seriously.
why we exist
the antidote to an industry’s reputation
Litigation finance has a reputation problem: opaque pricing, compounding rates, and funders who treat injured people like line items. We founded Merlin Capital in 2026 to be the opposite: transparent, disciplined, and genuinely on the plaintiff’s side.
The premise is simple. A strong case shouldn’t be settled cheap because the plaintiff can’t pay rent while it’s pending. Our non-recourse advances level that field: if your case doesn’t win, you owe nothing. That’s not a technicality. It’s the entire promise.
“We built a litigation finance company that feels less like a bank and more like a trusted advisor who happens to be really good with money.”
what we believe
four values, applied daily
foresight
We see around corners. Our underwriting evaluates not just what a case is worth, but when and how it resolves.
precision
Every dollar deployed is backed by rigorous case evaluation. We decline more deals than we fund.
warmth
Financial relief shouldn’t feel intimidating. We speak plainly, act quickly, and treat every plaintiff with dignity.
conviction
When we commit, we commit fully. Our capital is patient because our diligence is thorough.
the team
underwriters who’ve sat in the chair
Our team blends former plaintiff-side litigators, insurance-industry veterans, and structured-finance professionals. When we evaluate a case, we’re not guessing what a trial lawyer will do next. Several of us used to be one.
Underwriting
Led by former personal injury litigators with decades of combined courtroom experience on the plaintiff side.
Capital & risk
Structured-finance professionals who keep our capital patient and our commitments dependable.
Client care
A team measured on clarity and callbacks: every applicant gets a named point of contact, not a queue.
